Liotrivi Blue
We are located on the east side of the island of Kythnos, between Kalo Livadi and Lefkes. Our lodging offers amazing views of the Aegean Sea as well as access to a beautiful secluded beach. The beach is only 80m away from the main house, and is a 5 minute descent of pathway and cement stairs. It is usually very peaceful, with only a handful of visitors resting under the two big trees, thus giving the impression of a private beach even in the heart of August.
We have created three autonomous studios with a lot of love, homey feeling and trying to provide all amenities in order to offer trully relaxing and carefree vacations. All studios are equipped with state of the art inverter airconditioning units and modern roof fan. There is also a mini countertop electric cooker with three hot plates and oven, all basic cooking utilities, cutlery, wine and water glassware as well as cups and mugs for your coffee. Smaller appliances include a nespresso coffee machine, kettle, freddo mixer and sandwich maker plus all useful kitchen accessories. The studio has a 32-inch flat TV and WiFi covering all spaces, either you are in your room or enjoying the view from your terrace.
Also, there is an iron and iron board and a hairdryer. We provide bedsheets, quality towels and dish towels. There is hot water supply available 24/7 and of course a spacious parking space for your vehicle.
The view from the terrace is amazing and if you are an early bird, you will have the opportunity to experience one of the most beautiful sunrises, as the sun emerges from the sea. On days with good visibility you will be able to see the houses of Syros island on the east and the coastline of Serifos island on the south, while at night the lights of the villages on these two islands are flickering in the horizon. Looking up in the night sky you will be showered by an abundance of stars, with shooting stars dashing here and there and the great constellations of Ursa Major and Ursa Minor clearly visible.
Our studios are located just 8km away from the port of Merichas, a beautiful 20 minute car ride through the magical cycladic scenery, crossing dry stone huts used by local farmers, old mills and unique architectural stone structures called drystacks. On your way to the lodge, upon your descent to Liotrivi, you will marvel at the immense beauty of the east part of the island. The area is tranquil, consisting of 10 houses only, pretty secluded from the hordes of tourists and the buzzing of the island. If you choose it, though, a 10 minute car ride will take you to the traditional village of Dryopida and a 20 minute one to the bustling port of Merichas. From the main road, you can also reach the impressive Chora in under 25 minutes.

DRYOPIDA:
Dryopida, with its traditional tiled houses of excellent architecture, old churches, beautiful little squares, picturesque alleys and arches that fascinate the visitor, owes its name to Dryopes, the first, according to the tradition, inhabitants of the island. The Chorio or Syllakas, according to the locals, built between hills and unseen by the sea, has a long tradition of pottery art. Dryopida is 7 km from Chora. In Dryopida you can see the Byzantine Museum with Holly Bibles, icons and crosses of the 18th and 19th centuries, bronze and golden ecclesiastical items, wood carvings, an 18th-century epitaph with illustrations of Christ’s life and a wooden carved iconostasis,
CHORA:
Chora or Mesaria, the capital of Kythnos, is built amphitheatrically on a hillside. It is 8 km from Mericha, the port of the island. It was built in the 17th century and since then it has been constantly inhabited.
The capital of Kythnos, with the Cycladic style and the authentic island atmosphere, enchants every visitor. Small squares and picturesque cobblestone streets with traditional restaurants, cafes, confectioneries and shops, white houses with colored doors and windows, stairs, arches, churches and windmills make up a wonderful residential complex.
KOLONA:
Kolona beach is the most famous and perhaps the most beautiful beach on the island of Kythnos. The beach is located in the homonymous bay, at the northwest section of the island, north of the harbor of Merichas and opposite the equally beautiful Apokrousi beach. The Kolona beach has crystal clear blue waters and coarse golden sand. It is ideal to enjoy the sea and swimming in its cool and clear waters, surrounded by this beautiful landscape. Also because of its location, it is protected on both sides from the wind thus attracting yacht owners, sometimes to the point where bathers resent their presence
APOKROUSI:
Apokrousi beach is located on Kythnos Island, Cyclades and is about 3 kilometers away from Chora village. Apokrousi beach is a blue flag beach and one of the largest beaches on the island, with sand and trees. It is located to the north of Port Merihas and after the cove Episkopi. The beach has one tavern onshore and it offers a lovely view of the sea. The nearest village to this beach is Chora. There are several connecting buses to the beach from Merihas port. Taxis and motorbikes are also available for hire.
DISTANCES - INFORMATION
Liotrivi Blue is about 8 klm from the port of Merichas. It is located on the east side of the island. Our area is quiet with a total number of 10 houses.
Arrival instructions
From the port of Merichas we take the road to Dryopida - Panagia Kanala. After passing the village of Dryopida and continuing towards Panagia Kanala at the height where the windmills are and after meeting a Kritikos supermarket, immediately turn left onto the road that goes to Lefkes-Kalo Livadi. As we go down the slope we keep our eyes to the right for a small church of Taxiarchis where we turn right. There is also a sign that says to Liotrivi. We follow this road until we meet on our left hand a large concrete tank. At this point we turn left onto the existing road. (you will also see a Liotrivi sign). At this point the road for 50-60 meters is a dirt road and it would be good to go slowly and carefully until you reach the cement road which at the end will bring you to our studios. At the end of the downhill you will turn left into the private road of our plot and you will be able to park right next to the studio.
Information
Our rooms work as short term rentals. Which means that by law we are not allowed to enter the premises while occupied by guests except in an emergency.
Only hotels are legally allowed to offer cleaning services. Since we aren't a hotel, you will rent an already cleaned room with linens and towels and equipped with all the cleaning supplies for your use in order to maintain cleanliness during your stay. For stays over 3 days we will provide you every 4 days new clean linen and towels.
